Not long after Xander Bogaerts fielded the final out of Wednesday night’s extra innings 6-4 victory over the Chicago White Sox, the Boston Red Sox shortstop did what most 21-year-olds would do.
He hit Twitter.
Bogaerts, who has more than 40,000 followers has only tweeted once since Christmas. What would possess him to get online Wednesday? What possibly would the World Champions’ top prospect have to say?!?
Insert your own Sisqo joke here.
Suffice it to say, the latenight Tweetsters ate it up like the proverbial basement dwellers highbrow internet folks claim they are.
Swiggity swooty, @XanderBogaerts is coming for that booty.

And, yeah, it wasn’t long until Bogaerts deleted the tweet (and eventually, his Twitter account!)…but, c’mon because the internet, it’ll have a life of its own for a day or two.
